POE: HAUNTED PALACE
THE TIGER LILLIES
“Regular collaborator Mark Holthusen’s striking stage design which melds white 3D sets with projected imagery to create a series of spooky silhouettes, Escher-like rotating doorways and a rubik’s cube of possibilities, is once again a highlight of the show.”
“Unapologetically unique and sometimes downright creepy and confusing, The Tiger Lillies present Edgar Allan Poe’s Haunted Palace will not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it stands as an amazing piece of art well worth being admired.”
Everything Adelaide.
“The visual direction of this show utterly shines. The costumes, lighting and stunning set design all add to the poignant atmosphere. Combine these with the timeless works of Poe, and the whole show ultimately works to leave you breathless, amused and distraught all at the same time.”
PROJECTION AND SET DESIGN + CONTENT
“There are so many incredible areas of this performance, particularly visually. Against a plain set of drapes, doors and elevated platforms, animations are projected. We are taken from streets that fold in on each other, to flowers blooming, a dragon slithering around and a giant beating heart, among many other projections.”
